Reverse Image Search Anywhere, Now in Seven Languages

A quick update on Reverse Image Search Anywhere, the extension I shipped a couple weeks ago: version 0.6.0 is live, and the headline change is localization.

The extension now speaks seven languages:

• English
• Spanish
• French
• German
• Portuguese (Brazil)
• Russian
• Japanese

Everything a user actually reads is translated — the right-click menu items, the popup, the options, and the store listing itself. Pick an image, open the context menu, and the “Search Google Lens / Yandex / Bing / TinEye” entries show up in your language.

Reverse image search is not an English-only problem. A big share of the people verifying a photo, tracing a source, or checking a profile are searching in something other than English, and Yandex in particular is heavily used outside the English-speaking web. Making the extension meet them in their own language was overdue.

The website too

The other half of this release is that reverseimage.app — the marketing site, the guide, and the privacy policy — is now localized in the same seven languages, with localized URLs to match. So the whole path, from landing on the site to installing the extension to running a search, stays in one language instead of switching to English halfway through.

That end-to-end consistency mattered more to me than any single string. A localized extension behind an English-only site is a broken experience; this closes that gap.
